Friday Fun in Old Town

Friday night features registration and packet pickup for the weekend?s events from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., as well as the kickoff of Fort Collins Bike Week at 5:00, an Old Town Cruiser Ride at 5:30 and a free concert in Old Town from 6:00 to 9:00.

Saturday Road Race at Hughes Stadium

Professional racers and amateur Masters competing for a state championship will leave Hughes Stadium just after 7:00 a.m., and Senior amateur racers will compete at 9:30 a.m. Riders will be eligible for more than $8500 worth of cash and merchandise to be awarded to top performers over the course of the weekend. Citizen riders can test their mettle on the same course the professional racers will face, a climb up Rist Canyon and down Buckhorn Canyon, starting at 10:00 a.m. Riders will be times, like the pros, and fastest riders are eligible for prizes.

Saturday will feature food served from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and a Cycling Expo from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday Off-Road Dash for the Cache in Horsetooth and Lory Parks

This fun mountain bike treasure hunt will have teams of five and solo explorers starting an early-morning search through Horsetooth Mountain Park and Lory State Park for the treasure of Captain Moran. Using GPS navigation and traditional clues, riders will seek out as many hidden caches as they can find. Maps and details will be provided prior to the start. Prizes will be awarded to the top five teams. Starting time is 8:00 a.m. at Lory State Park.

Sunday King of Rist Canyon and Junior State Road Championship at Hughes

Sunday brings the opportunity for pro and amateur racers and recreational riders alike to test themselves against the 18.5-mile climb up Rist Canyon, along with the running of the Colorado Juniors State Road Race Championship. The King of Rist Canyon trophy will recognize the man and woman rider with the best combined times from events on Saturday and Sunday. Prizes and money will be awarded. Festivities begin at 7:00 a.m. at CSU?s Hughes Stadium. Food will be served from noon to 3:30 p.m., and a Cycling Expo will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
